Nice simple telescope, perfect for kids - Review by

I have bought two of these now...one for my child and one for a relative's child. Easy to use telescope which is very portable and provides instant viewing which is important for children who have a short attention span at times. Surprisingly good optics and provided nice clear views of the moon especially when coupled with the moon filter from the (optional) accessory kit. (Posted on )

I wasn't really sure what to expect for the price, but I'm extremely happy with the build quality. The FirstScope comes with a solid stand that helps you keep this high powered telescope stable.

One sight of the details on the moon, and I was hooked. I'm looking forward to gazing at the stars some more.

very happy with this purchase. I bought it for my child as an introduction to astronomy but I find myself using it at times I want to just want to observe for a short length of time and can't be bothered dragging my large telescope and mount outside. I'm buying another one for my niece's birthday! (Posted on )

very good service
brought as a gift i have no experience and wanted a product that was easy to use and would allow the user to use and explore the night sky.
it is easy to use although needs very careful focusing. and it is best used a stable base as it is very easy to knock out of line.
it is very easy to store and carry ideal for taking with you if you wish to go away from lit areas as not tripod is needed, although it is great for back yard use
has been enjoyed would recommend beginner's book to aide star searching

Great entry into telescopes - Review by
Overall Score
100
Few years ago my son received from a grandparent a generic store telescope, it was out of alignment and a real disappointment. He remained keen and after plenty of research purchased the Celestron FirstScope Telescope. He is rapt with this telescope and its performance from our backyard at dusk and early evening, and can't wait until he is allowed to stay up until really late on a dark night. Fantastic product and we will get plenty of use from it in the future. (Posted on )

Great First Scope. - Review by
Overall Score

For somebody who has been fascinated by anything space for most of their lives and is looking at getting a telescope. I highly recommend this.

I'd never even touched a telescope before I bought this, so I thought it would be good to test the waters with this scope before moving on to something else.

Don't expect to see a great deal with this but if you're happy to look at the moon, a couple of planets and some constellations. You won't be disappointed.

Very fast delivery and great customer service.
