    Summary

SkyWatcher 130/1000 EQ2 Reflector Telescope with Motor Drive

The SkyWatcher 130/1000 EQ2 Reflector Telescope is a powerful reflector that packs a punch. With its 130mm Newtonian design and 1000mm focal length, this telescope provides both a compact design with strong optic performance. The portable size means that the SkyWatcher 130/1000 EQ2 Reflector Telescope is easy to transport to your favourite viewing locations.

Larger than the 114mm model, the SW135 gives you more light capturing capabilities which translates to greater detail for your night sky viewing. Convenience is well accounted for with the standard aluminium tripod with accessory tray for storing eyepieces and other tools. Your viewing experience is also greatly enhanced with the Equatorial mount that makes star tracking easy.

An extra feature on the SkyWatcher 130/1000 EQ2 Reflector Telescope is the motor drive function. This standard accessory allows users greater control of the tube to track objects you are viewing. The greater accuracy afforded by using a motor drive as opposed to using your hands makes the SW135 an even more attractive Scope.

*Please note, the image through all finder scopes will be upside down.

Good first telescope - Review by

Although being a member of two astronomical societies a long time ago, this purchase is my first astronomical telescope. I wanted a scope that would satisfy my curiosity especially viewing the moon, planets and star clusters. The scope arrived quickly and was well packed and undamaged. A read of the manual and then to assemble the scope. This task was easy enough. I then set up the spotter scope to a local landmark. I have not fitted the motor as I want to get used to the operation of the scope. I was able to locate the planets without too much bother and even M42. I still have to practice using the E2 mount and later on to polar align the scope to accommodate piggy backing my digital camera on the handy supplied mount. Should my hobby take off again I will upgrade to a computerized model. The two supplied eyepieces are OK but it is recommended that filters and more eyepieces are purchased at the same time. I also ordered the Celestron eyepiece and filter kit and I am glad that I did. No problems with ordering through this supplier again. (Posted on )

Ok but not suitable - Review by

I thought your delivery was fine, received within a few days of ordering.

Packaging was not great. Have received similar products far better packaged.

I found the telescope much heavier than I expected, I did ask that it be suitable to move from my home on to the deck outside each time I wanted to use it. When fully assembled I was hardly able to move it and as a consequence I have hurt my back.

After speaking to your representative and her understanding of my problem I returned the telescope for a refund.

I appreciate your service follow up and hope my back improves as quickly as possible.

    Thanks. Basil Mitchell
