Meade LX65 5" Mak-Cassegrain Telescope
Observe the night sky in detail with the LX65 Series 5" Maksutov telescope. The telecope has a front convex meniscus lens that corrects spherical and chromatic aberrations and comas (off-axis aberrations) across the entire field of view, with a smaller secondary mirror versus Schmidt-Cassegrains, which reduces obstructions and increases contrast. The telescope also equipped with an internal single speed focuser and Ultra High Transmission Coatings.
The LX65 series features a newly designed single arm mount attached with Meade’s AudioStar Hand controller. This new compact and sturdy mount provides a great combination of portability and performance. Additionally, the LX65 mount has the two Vixen-style dovetail saddles that can hold two optical tubes. Attach up to a 3.18kg OTA on the secondary saddle for a chance to observe your objects both in wide field or close up.
The Meade AudioStar hand controller stores 30,000+ objects in database. This computerized celestial object location system plugs into the telescope's handbox port, allowing a quick telescope alignment. Once aligned with the sky, the AudioStar is ready to take you to any object in the over 30,000 object database. Head to your favorite dark-sky location and explore the Galaxies, star clusters, and more!
