Celestron Neximage 5MP Solar System Imager
The Celestron NexImage 5MP Solar System Imager allows you to take high resolution images of objects viewed through your telescope. Its 5 mega pixel sensor captures tremendous detail and produces images that will rival those of premium astronomical cameras. The smaller pixel sizes of the imager is capable of providing sub arc-second planetary detail with most telescopes.
Photography
The Micron DigitalClarity® technology found in the sensor was designed to reduce image noise levels which allows the user to capture crisp and clear images. Capable of capturing any planetary, lunar and even solar images, the NexImage comes with a camera control software that gives you power over the gain, contrast, exposure time, frame rate, colour saturation and many more through your computer. You will also get to choose from 9 different settings of resolution, ranging from 640x480 to 2592x1944.
Video Capture
It also allows you to view and capture live video on your computer. The sensor uses a progressive scanning method. The software that comes with the imager automatically filters out video frames that are affected by noise. This leaves only the clearest frames to be composited and aligned into one high quality image.
Celestron made the Imager compatible with most telescope by using the legacy 1.25” eyepiece diameter. The machined aluminium barrel will also accept standard 1.25” eyepiece filters. The Imager has integrated c-threads for direct connection to telescopes. There is no need for an adapter. It has an integrated IR-cut optical window, the option to select a “region of interest” for sub-framing and it is capable of 2x2 and 4x4 binning.
