Summary
The Saxon Dobsonian 10 Reflector Telescope is a powerful telescope which allows you to see further into the nightsky without bursting your budget. They are one of the Best First Time User's Telescope as they give the most value. This is due to its unique design, whereby the majority of the product cost goes into its high-quality lens.

The Saxon Dobsonian range of telescopes come in 6", 8", 10", and 12".

It also comes with Plossl lens which are one of the more expensive to manufacture because of the quality of glass, and the need for well matched convex and concave lenses to prevent internal reflections. Set up is a lot easier compared to tripod-based models. Simply mount the main unit on the base and you're good to go.

The Saxon 10” Dobsonian features a primary mirror made of Pyrex glass. Because of its very low coefficient of thermal expansion, Pyrex glass is less affected by changing temperatures. This greatly reduces the cooling time of a telescope larger than 8” in dameter without using an extra fan. The great stability of this low expansion glass ensures high quality images. It is also substantially more resistant to scratching then plate glass. Available on 254mm/120mm (10") only

*Please note, the image through all finder scopes will be upside down.

Wow, that's big! - Review by

Well, that was my wife's reaction when she saw my 10" Saxxon Dobsonian Telescope. Well, all jokes aside, this is a very good telescope.

In the first night I was easily able to see Jupiter, Mars and Saturn. I also saw Jupiter's Galilean moons as small diamonds near the planet.

It's not too heavy to move around and easy to assemble together.

I'm very happy with it and look forward to seeing as many deep sky objects as I can. I'm excited by what this scope can offer and reckon some more powerful eyepieces will make viewing even better!

Excellent telescope! - Review by

Finally, after 2 weeks, it arrives....perfectly collimated and in great condition. It took around 40 mins for my 11 year old son and I to assemble (make sure you have a "REAL" Phillips head screwdriver handy.
So, after the rain finally finished, I took it outside. It may be a heavy Dobsonian, but in two separate pieces, it's not difficult to carry. The finderscope was very easy to align, even without the moon. We saw Saturn, Mars and a few nebulae as well as many globular clusters. All I can say is....WOW! Even with the cheap(ish) Plossl eyepieces that come with the scope, the images were truly amazing. This was my first Dobsonian and I was amazed at how easy it was to move the scope around and target objects. Couldn't be any happier :)

This telescope won't disappoint - Review by

I've only had this scope for a short time but I have been able to get some observing done and the results were great. It may have been a minor challenge to take it outside but once its out there you will find that it was worth it! The telescope brings beautiful images and it is easy to use.I checked out Jupiter and it was stunning and I also love how smooth the focusing mechanism is. Sure it might be a little problem if you want to take somewhere less light polluted but once you got everything set up your in for a very good night of observing. I love this telescope and I'm sure you will to. Thanks OZScopes!!! (Posted on )
