- Built Well, Works well. highend scope for amatures
Building the mount took about 20 mins, easy enough to do no probs. the quality of the parts was great , more than i expecting. there was 8 heavy gauge screws holding the base together!!!
on that same night i was able to view Jupiter and its moons as well as the orion nebula all with the eye pieces supplied
quality of the parts and viewing was A+
only down side is how heavy the whole thing is (as a whole) if the scopes detached its probably a different story, but this just adds to the rugged build quality of the base

- A truly great first telescope
We then pointed it at Jupiter and what we saw was amazing: you could clearly see the clouds of Jupiter, and 4 of its moons, it was beautiful!
I've yet to take it out for a proper nights stargazing, but I'm sure when we do, we'll be just as impressed as we were this first time.
The only minor problem I had was that the bearings needed to be a lot tighter than I understood the instructions said they should be to stop it from dropping the front while aligning it. It would be nice if it were more balanced, I'm not sure how well this thing will cope when I try attaching my SLR to it.
If you're looking for a first time telescope and you can afford this one, go for it, you will not regret it. (Posted on 6/10/2017)
