Sparkling Gem - Review by
Overall Score
100
Have wanted a proper telescope for a while, but always thought they were too expensive. So I looked for one with a large reflector and found this gem. Big 150mm aperture with a generous 1200mm focal length. Out of the box with the 10mm focal one could see Jupiter's bands clearly, despite local conditions and heat haze. The moons of Jupiter were bright points of light around the planet. The Orion nebular was clear as a grey mass with several bright stars in the centre. This scope has a dove tail mount on the tube making it easy to set up and take down (which is different to the picture). The mount acts like a carry handle for the tube and the tripod is easy to set up. Remember the North leg faces South in the Southern Hemisphere. Have since added a 3x Barlow and 6.5 focal. Some "single stars" now show clearly as the multiples they actually are. Amazing, that the scope can give a decent image even past its practial power. Very pleased with this unit. (Posted on )

What a telescope!! - Review by

Bought this for myself for christmas :P package arrived last week but finally got to try it tonight (28-12-11), found jupiter and once i played around with the focus and centred the planet and it's moons on the wide angle lens, decided to try the 10mm lens. after some refocusing and what not, the finest of details emerged. don't get me wrong the wide angle lens showed great detail but the 10mm focused just blew my mind. can't wait to find saturn over the next few days! if you can afford it, buy it, and then prepare for your mind to be blown! 10/10 (Posted on )
